Our Story

Our company's roots trace back to January of 1956, when Mildred Thompson borrowed $600 to buy Dandee Sandwich Co. from a man named John Noegel.

Married to John Thompson, they'd recently moved to Florida from Stratford, Ontario, with their six children. (I know, right?)

Mr. Noegel had just ten customers, all confectionaries located in office buildings in downtown Jacksonville.

No such thing as convenience stores back then...
Out of the $600 loan, $400 paid for the first month's rent and utilities. The rest was spent on groceries to make sandwiches.

That first day they made 150 sandwiches. A Ham & Cheese "triangle" SOLD for 15 cents!

Mildred's son, Jerry delivered sandwiches daily after school. Together they built the company, and were joined later by his three sons, Matt, Steve and Jeff. They have all worked there since they were old enough to pick up a broom.

Family owned.

Family run.

From Day One.
